Whisperwind Crossing
A sacred glade in the Dimmingwood, located where a rootline crosses a major path. A place of immense First Song resonance.
Description
Whisperwind Crossing is a clearing surrounded by silverleaf trees. The air hums with ancient resonance — not quite music, but close. The glade features:
- A circle of root-carved pillars surrounding a stone basin of water
- Moonlight that filters through the canopy despite the hour
- Strange fireflies that drift above stone formations shaped like petals
- Plants that react to those with strong Song attunement
The glade feels "holy" — a place where the Song still sings strongly. It is a sanctuary in the oldest sense.
Book II
Silas and his companions reach Whisperwind Crossing in Book II, Chapter III, after being pursued by a shadow creature through the Dimmingwood. The creature was guarding the glade.
