Deepwood

Deepwood

Description

The Deepwood is a vast, ancient forest that surrounds Brackenhold and stretches westward. It is dense, wild, and largely untouched by civilization. The trees here are older and taller than elsewhere, scarred with time and memory.

Features

  • Canopy — Dense, filtering sunlight into golden patches
  • Ancient trees — Massive trunks with roots winding like buried secrets
  • Bioluminescent moss — Glows soft green in dark areas
  • Fireflies — Appear in greater numbers near sacred places
  • Old growth — Few signs of village or traveler activity

Significance

The Deepwood is both beautiful and dangerous. It represents the unknown world beyond Brackenhold that Silas has always wondered about but never explored.

The path south from Brackenhold leads through the Deepwood toward other settlements.

First Appearance
