Whisperglass

Whisperglass

A communication artifact used by Noctis's forces.

Description

A smooth, dark metallic sphere, about the size of a fist. When activated, it unfolds like a flower, revealing a hovering mirror of light that can project voice and image.

The surface is veined with crimson lines that pulse faintly.

Usage

The Whisperglass allows long-distance communication between Noctis and his commanders. It operates through corrupted resonance.

Appearances

Prologue (Book I)

Malakar uses it to report to Noctis about the attack on Vallenglen. Noctis confirms Silas is the Heir.

Epilogue (Book I)

Tobias finds a Whisperglass in the ruins of Vallenglen. It activates briefly, and Malakar's voice comes through.

Tobias keeps the device rather than destroying it — setting up potential corruption for Book II.

Significance

The Whisperglass represents Noctis's reach and control — he can communicate across vast distances to coordinate his forces.

Book II Updates

Tobias's Secret

Tobias found a Whisperglass in the ruins of Vallenglen (Book I Epilogue). In the Hollow Glade, he secretly contacted Malakar directly, proposing a "test" for Silas. This communication led to Malakar's ambush at the edge of the Hollow Glade.

Open Line

After receiving Tobias's contact, Malakar realizes the Whisperglass connection works both ways — if Tobias could reach him, he could potentially reach the Heir. "And now… we can speak."
