Hollowborn

A corrupted creature that inhabits the depths of Red Hollow.

Description

A large serpent-like creature that hunts in the corrupted tunnels of Red Hollow. Multi-limbed with a lashing tail tipped with a pulsing violet lure. The Hollowborn uses mist and manipulates the corrupted Song to disorient prey.

Abilities

• Mist Control — Creates violet mist that distorts the senses and fragments the Song
• Psychic Interference — The corrupted Song causes painful feedback in those attuned to it
• Command — Can wake and direct the cocooned failed experiments
• Hunting — Plays with prey rather than attacking directly

Appearances

Chapter XII

First appears, stalking the party through the tunnels, testing them rather than attacking directly.

Chapter XIV

The Hollowborn fully attacks in the ancient laboratory. It wakes the cocooned failed experiments and coordinates them against the party. The party defeats it by collapsing the tunnel behind them as they escape.

Significance

The Hollowborn represents Noctis's corruption made flesh — a twisted creation left behind when experiments failed.
